Many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.

LEMONT, IL — It's almost time to gather the family and enjoy some days of presents and good food. While some people — including employees at some retail stores, as well as emergency responders — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.

Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Lemont for Christmas 2018.

  • Post office: Closed
  • Federal offices: Closed
  • Village of Lemont: Closed
  • District 113A: School resumes Jan. 8.
  • Lemont High School: School resumes Jan. 8.
  • Lemont Park District CORE: Open until 12 p.m. Dec. 24, closed all day Dec. 25.
  • Lemont Park District Centennial Building: Closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
  • Lemont Library: Closed Dec. 24 and 25.
  • Banks: Closed
  • Gas stations: Open
  • Retail stores: Some will be closed, some — including a few area grocery stores — will be open, but check the hours before you go.
