Natalie Pakosz of Frankfort Named to the Spring 2021 Dean's List at Ripon College

Ripon College has announced its Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester recognizing academic excellence. To qualify for the Dean's List at Ripon College, students must achieve a 3.40 grade point average or higher on a 4.00 scale and complete at least 12 credits of regular letter-graded works.

Natalie Pakosz, class of 2023, from Frankfort is majoring in chemistry-biology and was named to the spring 2021 dean's list. Pakosz is the child of Daniel Pakosz of Palmetto, Florida and Catherine Pakosz of Frankfort.

Owen Sowatzke Receives Degree from Georgia Tech

Owen Sowatzke of Homer Glen, has earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Sowatzke was among approximately 4,435 undergraduate and graduate students who earned their degrees during the Spring 2021 semester and were recognized during the Institute's 260th Commencement exercises May 7-8, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.


Zavala makes Dean's List at Monmouth College

Christopher Zavala of New Lenox has made the Dean's List at Monmouth College for the spring semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must take at least three academic credits and have a GPA of at 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Zavala is the child of Jose Zavala of New Lenox.

Jason White of Mokena presented independent research at Knox College's HORIZONS Celebration 2021. White is majoring in Financial Mathematics at Knox and is a member of the Class of 2021.

University of Iowa 2021 spring semester dean's list honorees announced

More than 7,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa were named to the dean's list for the 2021 spring semester.

Dean's list status was earned by only 872 first year undergraduates during the 2021 spring semester at Iowa, only 1,579 second year students, only 1,947 third year students, and only 2,687 fourth year students.

University of Iowa 2021 spring semester president's list honorees announced

More than 1,000 undergraduate students at the University of Iowa named to the president's list for the 2021 spring semester.

In order to be included on the list, a student must have a minimum 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the fall 2020 semester, and a minimum of nine graded hours with a 4.0 grade-point average (4.0 is an A) in all academic subjects for the spring 2021 semester.

President's List students are: Cullen Barry of New Lenox, Madelyn Daley of Mokena, Aleigha Macdonald of Mokena, Fiona Sullivan of Mokena, Tess Kamradt of Lemont, Catherine Miles of Frankfort, Taylor Rizzuto of Frankfort, Cristina Garcia of Lockport, Kevin Horan of Homer Glen, Elizabeth Kuhn of Lockport and Jonathan Mattingly of Homer Glen.


Students named to Ohio University's Spring 2021 Dean's List

Ohio University students Jolie Boros from Lockport and Maeve Hurley from Frankfort have been named to Ohio University's Spring 2021 Dean's List.

More than 7,800 students qualified for the spring semester 2021 Dean's List at Ohio University, including main and regional campuses.


Trevor Lewis named to the Dean's List at Saint Francis University

Trevor Lewis, management major from Frankfort, was named to the Dean's List at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania. Lewis was among more than 700 students who earned a spot on one of the honors lists for the Spring 2021 semester.

Students who receive an honors distinction must have full-time status and attain a quality point average of 4.0 (President's) or 3.5 (Dean's) on 12 or more credits during a single semester, with no continuing or incomplete grades.


Lockport Student Named To Wartburg College Dean's List

Kelsey Ray of Lockport was named to the Wartburg College Winter/May Term Dean's List.
The college recognized 494 students for winter/May term.

The list honors students who earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the terms. Four of the five course credits have to be graded with a traditional letter grade.

Wartburg students take four courses during winter term, which runs from January through April, and one course during the one-month May term.


Margaret Bollinger elected treasurer of Iowa State University College of Human Sciences Student Council

Margaret Bollinger of Lockport, who is majoring in psychology, has been elected treasurer of the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences Student Council for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Bollinger is one of six students elected to serve on the executive team and will work with other executive team members to represent the College of Human Sciences students at the college and university level.
