Construction Crew Hit Gas Line On McCarthy Road: Cops

LEMONT, IL — Nicor is at the scene of a gas leak near Fourth Street and McCarthy Road in Lemont after a construction crew hit a gas line, Lemont Police said.

Crews in the area were working on McCarthy Road, which is under construction for bike lanes, repaving and grinding.

The leak is in the area of Fourth and Fifth Streets at McCarthy Road.

The Lemont Emergency Management Agency is at the scene directing traffic, police said. The fix is expected to take until 5 p.m. Monday, according to police.
