LEMONT, IL — Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A has been awarded the certificate of excellence in financial reporting from the Association of School Business Officials.

According to a release from the association, the certificate recognizes districts which have met the standards for financial reporting and transparency.

“The COE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting,” ASBO International Executive Director David Lewis said in a release. “The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report informs stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important communications tool for building trust and engaging with the school community.”

To earn the certificate, applicants had to submit their financial report for review by a team of financial professionals, who provide feedback to improve future documents, according to a release. A district's participation in the program can also facilitate bond rating and continuing bond disclosure processes, the release states.
