D113A Superintendent: The School Year Ahead

District 113A Community,

We are excited and ready for the start of the 2016-17 school year! We have spent our summer busily preparing for the return of our students and staff. Last year, we engaged in a district system assessment that enabled us to benchmark ourselves against research-based criteria of high-performing districts. Through this process, we developed a continuous improvement model in specific focus areas including curriculum, instruction, assessment, communication, and collaboration. This year, we will conduct school-based assessments to dive deeper into specific areas of the benchmark criteria, and we look forward to engaging our school community in this process.

Our staff is committed to providing District 113A students with the highest quality of engaging learning experiences in our classrooms. Recently, we have formed a technology committee comprised of administrators, staff, parents, board members and students to explore a 1:1 technology initiative. We look forward to sharing our work with this endeavor with you throughout the school year.
