LEMONT, IL — The Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacancy after board member Dave Molitor's election to the Lemont Township Board, the district said.

The person appointed to the seat would serve the rest of the term until April 2023.

Applicants for the board vacancy must:

● Be a United States citizen
● Be at least 18 years of age
● Be a resident of Illinois and the district for at least one year
● Be a registered voter
● Not hold another compatible office
● Not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district
● Not be a school trustee
● Not be a child sex offender

According to the district, board members attend at least one meeting monthly, occasionally more. Board members also regularly read and review updates and communicate with the superintendent on current and future happenings in the district.
