Big Warmup: Temps Near 70 For Week Of Election

ILLINOIS — Monday will start off in the 50s, before temperatures rise to near 70 degrees later in the week. According to the National Weather Service, Monday will have a high of 52 degrees and it will again be breezy.

Due to the winds as high as 35 mph Monday morning as well as a dry air mass, the weather service said there will be an elevated fire weather risk area-wide, especially southeast of Interstate 55.

After Monday, temps will begin to rise into the 60s. Tuesday has a high of 63, Wednesday has a high of 66, Thursday has a high of 67, and Friday has a high of 68 degrees. According to the weather service, the weather should remain dry and mostly sunny throughout the week.

MONDAY: Sunny, with a high near 51. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 36. West southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

TUESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 62. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Clear, with a low around 44.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 65.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

FRIDAY: Sunny, with a high near 68.
