Big Warmup: Temps Near 70 For Week Of Election
There will also be an elevated fire weather risk on Monday due to the winds and dry air mass.
ILLINOIS — Monday will start off in the 50s, before temperatures rise to near 70 degrees later in the week. According to the National Weather Service, Monday will have a high of 52 degrees and it will again be breezy.
Due to the winds as high as 35 mph Monday morning as well as a dry air mass, the weather service said there will be an elevated fire weather risk area-wide, especially southeast of Interstate 55.
After Monday, temps will begin to rise into the 60s. Tuesday has a high of 63, Wednesday has a high of 66, Thursday has a high of 67, and Friday has a high of 68 degrees. According to the weather service, the weather should remain dry and mostly sunny throughout the week.
