Expected Heat Prompts Earlier Game Time for Lemont Baseball

Lemont will face St. Viator in a state semifinal game at 9 a.m. on June 10.

JOLIET, IL — In anticipation of a whole lot of heat on Friday, the IHSA has moved up the start time for Lemont High School's IHSA Class 3A State Semifinal game against St. Viator to 9 a.m. So set your alarm clocks and get in your seat at Silver Cross Field in Joliet by game time!

Coach Brian Storako and his team are hoping for one more repeat from 2014. That season, Lemont captured the IHSA Class 3A State Championship, the school’s first-ever team state title in a boys’ sport.

Lemont has been on a tear in the postseason, averaging 9.2 runs per game and outscoring foes by a combined 46-8 margin in five playoff victories. The Indians won their seventh South Suburban Conference-Blue Division crown in eight seasons, captured their third straight IHSA Regional crown, and picked up the program’s second IHSA Sectional and IHSA Super-Sectional titles.
