The Forge Closed Valentine's Day Weekend For Cold Temps

LEMONT, IL — As subzero temperatures are expected this weekend, The Forge: Lemont Quarries said all park activities and events will be closed. The park had planned a special Valentine's Day Forgefire Globe Dining, which has also been canceled.

Ice skating will also be unavailable.

The park said the trails will still be open, and gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Lows for the weekend include 1 degree below zero on Friday night, 9 degrees below zero on Saturday night and 10 degrees below zero on Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service. In addition, wind chills of 25 below are possible Saturday night.
