Higher Grounds Coffee Company Closing Permanently
The business said it wasn't able to reach a lease renewal agreement and it had also suffered a financial hit due to the coronavirus.
LEMONT, IL — Small businesses continue to be hit hard by the coronavirus, with many forced to close their doors for good. In Lemont, Higher Grounds Coffee Company has announced it will be closing permanently.
"It is with great sadness that our chapter is coming to an end in Lemont. We have been unable to reach a lease renewal agreement with our building owner and have also suffered a substantial financial hit as a result of COVID19," the business said on its Facebook.
The coffee shop opened at 223 Main St. in downtown Lemont in late 2017. The business said it will remain open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until it runs out of inventory.
