Hometown Holiday Planned In Lemont

There will be no traditional tree-lighting ceremony nor a Kris Kringle Market this year.

LEMONT, IL — The Village of Lemont will host its annual Hometown Holiday event from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday. Eventgoers will be able to drive by and see holiday characters on Front Street just past Next Mex.

If you'd like to see Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, Frosty, Rudolph and the Grinch, you can drive north on Stephen Street and head west on Front Street. According to the Village website, Front Street will be one-way and no walk-ups to any characters will be allowed.

You can also stroll down Candy Cane lane along the canal path on Front Street, and visit the Christmas Tree on Main Street near Lemont Street. There will be no traditional tree-lighting ceremony nor a Kris Kringle Market this year.
