Hope And Friendship Foundation Seeks Bicycle Donations
The 8th Bicycle Recycle is currently rallying wheeled donations of gently used/working bikes, scooters, skates, bike accessories, strollers.

Donations of gently used- working bikes, wagons, strollers, skates, scooters, helmets- are being accepted at the far SE corner of the Police Department Parking Lot (near the fence- back of lot) from Monday May 3rd through Friday May 21st. We need the bikes to be in working condition so they can be regifted on the Bicycle Give Away Day (Saturday May 22nd). Adult bikes are needed to help put wheels under someone who does not have a car but needs transportation. Kids bikes and all of the fun wheeled items will be gratefully given a new home!
This outreach began in 2013 in cooperation with St. Al's/St. Pat's School, first held in the St. Patrick's Parking lot. We have since moved the collection and give away to the Lemont Police Department Lot (14600 127th Street, Lemont, IL) and have placed hundreds of "new" bikes in the grateful hands of parents, kids, and those who need transportation to get to and from work and responsibilities; as well as wagons, skates and scooters in homes that otherwise wouldn't have them; strollers, bike helmets, bike locks, and accessories in a home that otherwise would struggle to afford them.
I look forward to seeing the excitement of friends receiving the bike that fits them like Cinderella's slipper! It is always fun to see kids riding around the neighborhoods on their "new" bikes later that day! This picture was taken in 2013 of one of our young friends receiving his very first bike ever and Dad and older brother helping him ride it home <3
