Lemont Approves 2022 Capital Improvement Program

LEMONT, IL — At its meeting on Monday, the Lemont Village Board approved the capital improvement program for the village for fiscal year 2022. The capital improvement plan represents the village's commitment to its strategic plan and investment in village infrastructure, board documents state.

The improvement program is a guideline for budgeting and spending of funds for capital improvements, board documents state.

According to board documents, the capital improvement program for fiscal year 2022 was approved in the amount of $5,449,000. Village staff organized the projects into five categories of: utility infrastructure, quality of life, economic sustainability and vibrancy, safety, and roadway infrastructure.

Some highlights of the program for 2022 include the State Street and 127th Street water main replacement with a budget of $223,000; the Stephen Street Water Main replacement and resurfacing with a budget of $425,000; Archer Avenue and 127th Street Municipal project (water and sewer) with a budget of $800,000; NFC Fitness park slab with a budget of $80,000; Tri Central Linear Park with a budget of $500,000; tollway sound mitigation with a budget of $409,000; Lemont gateway and wayfinding signs with a budget of $90,000; Stephen Street bicycle and pedestrian path with a budget of $110,000; Rolling Meadows Drive pedestrian crosswalk with a budget of $62,000; McCarthy Road bike path with a budget of $363,000; and Old Derby restoration (roads) with a budget of $500,000.
