Lemont Church Hosts Drive-By Birthday Party for Pastor

Pastor Mike Gudgel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church enjoyed a parade of birthday well-wishers outside of his home this week

The residents on Timberline Drive in Lemont may have heard quite a bit of horn blowing on Tuesday, April 28 around 5 pm. For those who looked out their windows or stepped outside their front doors, they saw a caravan of over two dozen cars with banners and balloons parading past the home of Pastor Mike Gudgel!

The congregation of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lemont wanted to do something special to celebrate their Pastor’s birthday so they arranged a drive-by birthday celebration. Out of respect for social distancing, gifts were ‘tossed’ onto his front yard!! Pastor Mike’s church family wanted to show their love and appreciation for ‘all’ he does – not only going above and beyond during these difficult times, but as he always does!
