Lemont Family Hosts Final Yard Sale to Support Kids 'Cancer Camp'

Ryan and Dana Kahle will host a three-garage sale this weekend to raise money for Camp Kesem at Northwestern University.

A Lemont family will host a three-day garage/yard sale this weekend to benefit a Northwestern University summer camp.

The Kahles will host the sale Thursday, Friday and Saturady from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their home, located at 18 E. Eureka Drive.

The sale will feature everything from clothing and toys to antiques and furniture—all of which was donated by friends, community members and past garage sale patrons.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1 each or six for $5. Prizes include gift cards to  Leo and Sons Carpet Cleaning and Front Street Cantina, Avon gift baskets, a Starbucks gift bag, grocery gift cards and cash prizes.

The drawing will be held on Labor Day and winners will be contacted via phone, email or mail.

All proceeds will benefit Northwestern University's Camp Kesem, a one-week, overnight summer camp for children in the Chicagoland area, ages 6-16, who have a parent who has died from cancer, is currently in treatment for cancer, or is in remission from cancer.

This weekend's garage sale is the last in a series of fundraisers hosted by University of Illinois sophomore Ryan Kahle, 19, and his sister, Lemont High School sophomore Dana Kahle, 15—both of whom have attended Camp Kesem.

To date, the Kahles have raised more than $3,500 toward their $5,000 goal.
