Lemont Girl Scouts Host Drive-Thru Cookie Booths

The drive-thru events will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 6 and March 7.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Girl Scout Service Unit 724 will host two weekends of drive-thru Girl Scout cookie booths to share sweet treats and fund local Girl Scout service projects and adventures. The events will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 20 and Feb. 21; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 6 and March 7.

According to the unit, the booth will be held in the River Valley School circle drive, 15425 W. 127th St. Patrons will pull through the drive, place their order, and then collect their order down the line.

Cookies are $5 per box, and cash, credit or debit payments will be accepted. The unit said donations of cookie boxes will also be collected for Lemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Lemont Food Pantries.

All Girl Scouts and volunteers working the event are part of the Lemont Girl Scout Service Unit 724, as well as 126 adult volunteers. The service unit is composed of 36 Girl Scout troops ages 5 to 18.

All cookie sale profits will be allocated among the troops working the events.

The Girl Scouts have had to cancel several events over the past year, including its spaghetti dinner and fall pancake breakfast. However, several Scouts have still completed service projects, and the entire unit has worked to hold the annual sock drive, food pantry drive and a holiday card drive.
