Lemont High School Releases 2017-18 Calendar

LEMONT, IL — At its January 17 meeting, the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education approved the Lemont High School calendar for the 2017-18 school year.

The first day of attendance for freshmen and transfer students will be Wednesday, August 16. The first full day of attendance for all students will be Thursday, August 17. Registration Processing Day will be held on Tuesday, August 8.

Winter Break begins at the end of the day on Friday, December 22, and classes resume following the break on Tuesday, January 9. Spring Break will begin at the end of the day on Friday, March 23, with classes resuming on Monday, April 2. The last day of school tentatively is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23. Graduation is set for Friday, May 25.

August 16 - First Day of School – Freshmen/transfer students only
August 17 - First Day of School – All students
September 4 - No School – Labor Day
September 12 - School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
October 9 - No School – Columbus Day
October 18 - Half Day of School – Student Testing (classes begin at 8 a.m., dismiss at 1 p.m.)
October 31 - School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
November 22 - Early Release – 1 p.m.
November 23-24 - No School – Thanksgiving Holiday
December 22 - End of First Semester/Winter Break begins at end of day
January 8 - No School – Teacher Institute Day
January 9 - Classes resume following Winter Break
January 15 - No School – Martin Luther King’s Birthday (observed)
February 9 - School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
February 15 - Early Release – 1 p.m.
February 16 - No School
February 19 - No School – Presidents’ Holiday
March 6 - School Improvement Day (classes dismiss at 11:15 a.m.)
March 23 - Early Release – 1 p.m./Spring Break begins at end of day
April 2 - Classes resume following Spring Break
April 10 - Half Day of School – Student Testing (dismissal TBA)
April 23 - No School – Teacher Institute Day
May 23 - Tentative Last Day of School
May 25 - Graduation

Note: If needed, “inclement weather days” tentatively are scheduled for May 24-25 and May 29-31. To allow for meaningful classroom instruction, days currently designated as holidays or “No School” days may be used instead if deemed necessary by school administrators.
