Lemont Hornets Cheerleading Squads Place At State Competition

LEMONT, IL — Two Lemont Hornets cheerleading squads placed at the Illinois Recreational Cheerleading Association's state competition this past weekend. The Hornets Light Weights squad and the Super Light Weights both placed at the competition, which was held Dec. 6-8 in Hoffman Estates.

The Light Weights, which is made up of third and fourth graders, came in second place at the event, while the Super Light Weights, which is made up of first and second graders, came in third place.

The Hornets varsity squad also earned a bid to the state event, but did not place at the competition. The squad is made up of seventh and eighth graders.
