Lemont Park District Counts Down to Independence Day Celebration

LEMONT, IL — Wondering if Summer is ever going to get here!? Well, this Saturday, May 14, marks just 50 days until Lemont Park District’s Independence Day Extravaganza! As the District’s 50th Anniversary celebration continues, the agency is counting down the 50 days leading up to the “party of the year” on all their social media outlets starting this Saturday!

On April 16, the agency officially turned 50 and celebrated by hosting a reception honoring all former commissioners and leaders of the Lemont Park District. Boasting the theme “All you need is FUN!” (think Beatles “All You Need Is Love”), several events have taken place throughout this commemorative year and will continue to do so throughout 2016. However, the Annual Independence Day Extravaganza is sure to be tops!

Not only is the event going to include all the special amenities the community has become accustomed to such as live music, great food and the BEST fireworks display in the area. This year the event will include various other elements such as an earlier start time beginning at 2 p.m. and an enhanced “kids’ zone” featuring free kiddie carnival rides!
