Lemont Police Offering Drug Awareness Program

Dates in June, July, and August.

LEMONT, IL — As the growing problem of Heroin is ruining peoples’ lives, especially in the Northern Illinois area, the Lemont Police Department has a Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco awareness program that is open to the general public. It educates young people on the dangers of chemicals and what they can do to your body, life and loved ones. This program has been run by the police department for almost 5 years and is held at the Lemont police station, 14600 127th St.

If you are a parent or grandparent who has someone who is between the ages of 12 and 21 who think would benefit knowing the dangers of street drugs, prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco and the wide variety of chemical dangers that young people may come in contact with in todays world; please enroll them in our DAT program. The classes run an hour and half for two nights and start promptly at 5 p.m. and finish at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings once a month.

The dates for the summer classes, which are held at the Lemont Police Station by Retired Officer Denise Bode, are as follows:

  • June 27th and 29th
  • July 25th and 27th
  • August 29th and 31st

The cost of the two night class is $50, payable the first night by cash or money order. If you would like to enroll please call Denise Bode at (815) 545-8042 and give the name, address, phone number and age of the person attending, along with which dates they will attend.
