Lemont Submits Grant Apps For Water Main, Pedestrian Crossing
The village has submitted applications for grant funding for a water main project on Walker Road, and a pedestrian crossing on 127th Street.
LEMONT, IL — The Village of Lemont approved the submittal of grant applications for two different projects at its Monday village board meeting.
The first application will be submitted to Cook County's Community Development Block Grant program for funding of the water main extension on Walker Road south of Main Street, according to board documents. The project includes the installation of water main, two pressure connections, water main pipe jacking, storm sewer modifications, patching and restoration, board documents state.
"The water main will be on Main Street and head south to the bridge where the Franciscan Village will be able to tap on to this," Public Works Director Ralph Pukula said during the meeting. "It would be a win-win for both entities."
