Lemont Township Partners With Local Pantries
Lemont Community food drives a great success!

During the pandemic Lemont Township has stepped up by creating a food bank to assist our two local pantries. We’re also a 24/7 food drop off location at 1115 Warner Ave. office. Together the churches and the Township serve our families and seniors in need.
It has been challenging as many of the pantries volunteers are seniors and more at risk for Covid. The churches have limit space which isn’t conducive for social distancing while working.
The township holds food in their bank & drops off items on an as needed basis.

United Methodist and Bethany Lutheran Church continue to receive residents and assist following CDC guidelines. They both give monthly gift cards for local food stores.
The Lemont community has done a great job supporting this effort with local organizations holding food drives recently. Our shelves are currently filled with an adequate amount of the usual items donated. Items currently needed are laundry soap, paper products & coffee.

Should you donate food items be sure to check expiration dates, this is very helpful.
The pantries are asking mainly for monetary donations through the beginning of 2021 as space is limited and the shelves are pretty full. These donations are an important way help supplement the gift cards purchased each month for our recipients.
