Lemont Township Plans Volunteer Clean-Up Day

You can help clear invasive species and beautify the open space at the clean-up day on July 17.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont Township will hold a volunteer clean-up day for its open space at the Heritage Woodland Sanctuary on July 17. The sanctuary includes 60 acres of native plants, restored Illinois prairie grasses and wildlife.

If you would like to help clear invasive species and beautify the open space, you can meet at the township community center, 16300 Alba St., at 8:30 a.m. on July 17. Community service hours are also available.

Volunteers should dress to work in the prairie, and gloves and tools are provided, according to the township. If you would like more information, you can email kathy-henrikson@lemonttownship.org.
