LHS Alumnus To Play In First Four Of NCAA Tournament

LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School alumnus and Drake University basketball player Nate Ferguson is the first player from the school to participate in the NCAA tournament. Drake will play Wichita State on Thursday in the First Four, which is a series of play-in games in the NCAA Division 1 men's basketball tournament.
Ferguson graduated from Lemont High School in 2019. Ferguson is the fourth NCAA Division I basketball player in school history, and the first to play in the NCAA tournament, the school told Patch.
According to the school, the 6'7" forward was a team captain his senior year, and as a senior, he averaged 19.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 blocks per game while playing in 30 games, as Lemont finished as an IHSA Class 4A Regional Finalist. He was also an honorable mention all-state player as a senior.

Drake University, which is 25-4, will play Wichita State, 16-5, at 5:27 p.m. Thursday.
