LHS Dance Team Advances To State Finals
Lemont came in fourth at sectionals with a score of 84.13, edging out fifth place Batavia and coming in just behind Oak Forest.
LEMONT, IL — After a fourth place finish at sectionals, the Lemont High School varsity dance team is heading to the IHSA Class 2A competitive dance state finals.
The dance team competed at sectionals Jan. 25 at Geneva High School. Lemont came in fourth with a score of 84.13, edging out fifth place Batavia and coming in just behind Oak Forest, according to the IHSA website.
Earlier in the season, the team won the South Suburban Conference Blue Division.

The state final competition will be held Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington. The preliminary round will be held Friday, and the final round will be held Saturday.
The team includes: seniors Charlotte Albrecht, Sophia Antonopoulos, Lindsey Gottardo, Nina Mazzotti and Hailey Sawatzky; juniors Megan Bechtlofft, Julia Bolin, Kelli Crispo, Angela Fidanzo, Monika Lesnicki, Ashley McCastland and Katelyn Parent; sophomores Natalia Ciesla, Giselle Glotzbach, Annie Pesavento and Alexa Potaczek; and freshmen Jill Ferguson, Hannah Tomala and Kaitlyn Tomala. The team is coached by Beth Purcell.
