Major Traffic Delays After Jack-Knifed Semi-Truck On I-55: Police

The right two lanes of I-55 southbound near Cass Avenue are closed near the scene, so that the truck can be removed, police said.

LEMONT, IL — Two lanes of southbound Interstate 55 near Cass Avenue in Darien are closed Thursday after a jack-knifed semi-truck on the right shoulder and right ditch of the road, Illinois State Police said.

The crash happened at 10:56 a.m. Thursday. The right two lanes of I-55 southbound are closed near the scene, so that the truck can be removed, police said.

Northbound traffic on I-55 is backed up to I-355, while southbound traffic is backed up to I-294, according to police. Traffic back-ups are expected to last for an hour or two.

No one was injured in the crash, police said.
