Man Dies After ATV Crash In Lemont: Police
A 47-year-old man, who had been driving a 4-wheel ATV, was ejected from the vehicle into the canal, according to police.
LEMONT, IL — A man has died after his all-terrain vehicle crashed, and he was ejected into the I&M Canal in Lemont on Monday, Lemont Police said. The Lemont Fire Protection District performed life-saving measures and took the man to Silver Cross Hospital, where he died, according to police.
The man, now identified as John Crandall, 47, of Lemont, was the driver of an ATV which lost control and struck a fixed object in the 0-100 block of Front Street, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
Crandall sustained multiple injuries due to the crash, the coroner's office said. The final cause and manner of death will be determined pending the final review of police, autopsy and toxicological reports.
