Obituary: Ralph Kyle Shroyer

LEMONT, IL — Ralph Kyle Shroyer, 81, longtime resident of Lemont, died June 15. Ralph was a Veteran of the Marine Corps., charter member of the White Eagle Social Club, and a member of the H&H Restaurant breakfast club. He was a longtime employee of Ludwig Explosives Inc. and was an avid Cubs fan.

Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bonnie, nee Freehauf, Shroyer; two children, Tim (Jane) Shroyer and Susie (Joe) Gardner; adored Papa to grandchildren, Lauren (Alex) Rodriguez, Kate Shroyer, Megan Holley, and Justin Gardner; his great-granddaughter, Sadie Jane Rodriguez; and a sister, Betty (Ed) Heussner.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Shroyer; and his brother, James Shroyer.

Memorial visitation is Saturday, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Prayer service at 11 a.m., then driving in procession to St. Alphonsus Church, for a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
