LEMONT, IL — Old Quarry Band Director Frank Alongi was recently honored as a 2021 Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award recipient, according to a release from the district.

This yearly award, sponsored by Quinlan and Fabish Music, is given to celebrate excellence in music education. The award has been given since 1989. Nominations are accepted from throughout the Music Education community and are voted on by a committee composed of all of the previous award recipients, the district said.

“Frank is an amazing educator that puts kids first. He has an extreme passion for teaching and
that is evident in his work. We are proud to have him at Old Quarry and in District 113A. We are
thrilled he has been honored with this award,” said Old Quarry Middle School Principal Joe
