Police Urge Caution after 7 Car Burglaries in 1 Night
Lemont police are reminding residents to lock their car doors.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont police are warning residents to lock their car doors, after a string of seven car burglaries in one night.
The incidents took place in the overnight hours Wednesday, Sept. 28 along the I-355 corridor, according to Lemont Police Chief Marc Maton.
Police believe that the burglaries are committed by at least two suspects, one who drives a car into the area, the other who jumps out and begins checking for unlocked vehicles nearby. In one instance, a car was stolen when it was left unlocked with the keys inside, Maton said. The vehicle was later recovered in Chicago. The subjects then move on to other surrounding towns.
