Poll Worker Attempts To Turn Early Voters Away In Lemont: Police

Police were called to the polling place, and stayed to make sure the voters were allowed to vote.

LEMONT, IL — A poll worker in Lemont tried to turn away voters at 7 p.m. during early voting Monday, while people were still in line to vote.

The only early voting location in Lemont was at Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave.

A user on Reddit posted that a poll worker announced at 6:36 p.m. that the polling place was closing at 7 p.m. and to go to their polling place at 6 a.m. Tuesday. The user said they told people to stay in line, and someone called Lemont Police.

Lemont Police told Patch there were nine people outside who wanted to vote. The officers stayed, and made sure the voters were allowed to vote.
