The goal of SAT 1600 is to give students the confidence, strategies and content necessary to score their personal best on the SAT. The course does this by familiarizing students with the elements of the SAT, from content and timing to pacing and strategies. The course also reviews difficult concepts, specifically in English and mathematics, and allows students an opportunity to take a practice exam. All SAT 1600 instructors are carefully trained and certified.

The Illinois State Board of Education mandates that all school districts participate in an annual statewide assessment. For many years, all juniors took the ACT. In Summer 2016, however, ISBE finalized an agreement with the College Board to make the SAT the required state assessment for all juniors beginning in Spring 2017. Lemont High School’s Class of 2018 will take the SAT on Wednesday, April 5.
