The new playground will be ADA accessible and will feature new play pieces for various ages.
LEMONT, IL — Renovations will soon be underway at the Lemont Junior Woman's Club playground at Centennial Park after the Lemont park district board recently awarded a bid for the project.
The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, Hacienda Landscaping Inc., for $332,710.
“Groundbreaking for this project is due to take place in early June and the park should be completed in September, weather pending,” Larry Rizzo, Director of Maintenance and Planning, said.

The playground at Centennial Park was first named the Lemont Junior Woman's club playground in 2005 when the group assisted in funding the new play equipment, the park district said.
In 2017, the club again stepped in to help, and committed to raising $30,000 for renovations at Centennial Park.

The park district held a Make Your Park planning meeting in January, and it said it received great feedback on the concepts for the park. The new playground will be ADA accessible, feature new play pieces for various ages, and will have poured-in-place rubber surface and synthetic turf play surface.
