LEMONT, IL — In a collaborative effort between local school districts, the third-grade students at River Valley School had the opportunity to attend an in-house "Health Fair."
It was an exciting and informative morning as the Lemont children received stamps in a passport for visiting stations where they learned about a wide variety of health-related topics and social-emotional issues. Each station was taught by a team of eighth-grade students from Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School. The River Valley students had interactive experiences with their "teachers," ranging from nutrition, fitness, pollution, recycling, internet safety, and safety topics. There were interactive booths at which the students could play an informative game to have the passport stamped.
