Scarecrow Trail Coming Back to Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary
Lemont Junior Woman's Club and Lemont Township Host Third Annual Scarecrow Decorating Contest for the Community

The Lemont Junior Woman's Club and the Lemont Township are hosting the third annual Lemont Scarecrow Trail Contest at the Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary located adjacent to the Lemont Township building. This year's theme will be "Heroes and Villains." Participants are encouraged to decorate their scarecrows as the heroes or villains of their choice, such as Wonder Woman, Harry Potter, a favorite teacher, etc. The Lemont Junior Woman's Club and the Lemont Township welcome participation from individuals, families, schools, youth groups, sports teams, religious organizations, and businesses.
Those who wish to participate should mail an entry form along with payment by September 12, 2018 to LJWC, Attn: Scarecrow 2018, P.O. Box 563, Lemont, IL 60439. Prizes will be awarded to the top three scarecrows on October 26, 2018. The entry fee is $25 for families and organizations, and $50 for businesses.
Community members are encouraged to come out and cast their votes for their favorite scarecrow heroes and villains displayed at the Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary from October 1st through the 24th. The Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary boasts 59 acres of restored prairie, savanna, wetlands and woodland habitat. Visitors can walk the trails and view native trees, wildflowers, and wildlife.
