State Street Water Tower Getting New Coat Of Paint

The painting should be completed by the end of April or early May.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont residents may notice some work going on at the State Street water tower, as the large tower gets a fresh coat of paint, Public Works Director Ralph Pukula said at Monday's village board meeting.

"We're going to be starting inside the tower to refurbish that, and then the painting will begin on the outside," Pukula said, advising that a lot of equipment would also be going in and out of the property off of State Street.

The painting should be completed by the end of April or early May.

Yard Waste

Now that the snow has melted, residents may want to start picking up their yards and setting yard waste bags out for pick-up. However, yard waste pick-up from Waste Management does not start until April 1, Pukula said.

Residents can pick up yard bags from their local hardware store, and the pick-up is already paid for through Waste Management. Yard waste pick-up happens on the same day as your regular garbage pick-up.
