Lemont Historical Society offers special event Sept. 4.

LASALLE, IL — Lemont Historical Society is sponsoring a ride on the authentic mule-driven passenger Canal Boat on the I&M Canal at LaSalle, Illinois—the only one of its kind in the Heritage Corridor—on Sunday, September 4.

Take advantage of the long Labor Day weekend to join the excursion. Transportation to LaSalle is on your own. Passengers will meet at the Lock 16 Visitors Center at 754 First Street in LaSalle at 11:30 a.m. for a luncheon, followed by a one-hour trip through the 19th century aboard the Canal Boat.

A pre-paid reservation is required by contacting the Historical Society at (630) 257-2972 or lemonthistorical@gmail.com. Fee is $25 per person and $15 children for lunch and the boat ride.
