2 Juveniles Charged After Armed Robbery In Lemont: Cops

The armed robbery was reported at 6:24 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Sobieski Street.

LEMONT, IL — Two juveniles have been charged after an armed robbery in Lemont on Saturday, Lemont Police said. The armed robbery was reported at 6:24 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Sobieski Street, where the victim was approached by several males, including one who was reportedly armed with a handgun.

The offenders demanded that the victim turn over his property, the victim did so, and the offenders fled, police said.

According to police, two juveniles were found in the 7500 block of Route 83 and were taken into custody with the assistance of the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Willowbrook Police Department and the Burr Ridge Police Department.

Police said they recovered the victim's property and a replica handgun.

The two juveniles, who live in Carol Stream and Plainfield, were both charged with armed robbery, mob action and battery. They were taken to the Cook County juvenile detention facility.

Police believe three more people may be involved in this incident, and said they continue to investigate.
