Dangerous Cold Expected After Wintry Weather Thursday In Illinois
The weather service said accumulating snow, winds up to 40 mph, light icing and plummeting temperatures are all possible on Thursday.
ILLINOIS — After several inches of snow on Saturday and Sunday, the Chicago area is preparing for more wintry weather on Thursday before the coldest temperatures of the season arrive. According to the National Weather Service, a storm system will likely bring a variety of winter weather hazards on Thursday into early Friday.
The weather service said accumulating snow, strong winds up to 40 mph, light icing, and plummeting temperatures are all possible. A few to several inches of snow is possible, especially for the western and northern suburbs of Chicago.

After wintry weather on Thursday, dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills are possible. According to the weather service, there is an increasing risk for bitter cold with temperatures near or subzero, and wind chills of 20 below zero or colder. The freezing cold temperatures will arrive Saturday or Sunday.
