6-Year-Old Dies In Boulder Hill; Sheriff, DCFS Investigating

MONTGOMERY, IL — A 6-year-old girl was found dead in her family's Boulder Hill home on Thursday, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to the home in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a child who was unresponsive and not breathing.

Police said the little girl, identified as Kerrigan Rutherford, was found dead in the home by deputies and the Oswego Fire Department.

Sheriff's deputies and detectives are investigating the girl's death with assistance from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
