Chlorine Smell In Water: Montgomery Village Staff Holding Public Meeting

The meeting will be held on the evening of Tuesday, March 28

The following was published on the Village of Montgomery website:

"The presentation begins at 6pm on Tuesday, March 28th at the Police Department, 10 Civic Center Avenue.

Village staff and officials will be hosting a community open house to discuss the presence of a chlorine smell in the water, this is specifically affecting customers of the village’s water system located west of Orchard Road.

Village staff will provide a brief presentation on the make-up of the village’s water, treatment and disinfection technologies employed, the need for a consistent chlorine residual to prevent potential bacteria growth while water navigates the distributions system to the customers, and United States and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requirements of the community water system.

After the conclusion of the presentation staff and officials will be available to answer any questions."
