Christmas House Lights: Montgomery Hosts Competition

Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 11.

MONTGOMERY, IL—If you're in the mood to whip out the Christmas lights before you've even carved the Thanksgiving turkey, go right ahead. Psychologists say it might make you happier.

"Christmas decorating will spike dopamine, a feel-good hormone," Psychologist Deborah Seranitold Today.

And while you're in the holiday spirit, don't forget to nominate your house or enter your own in the Village of Montgomery's holiday decorations contest.

Village officials are currently accepting nominations.

Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 11. Judging will take place on Dec. 13.
