Community Invited To Celebrate Life Of Stan Bond
The longtime trustee died in February after his battle with cancer.
MONTGOMERY, IL — Village of Montgomery community members are celebrating the life of Stanton (Stan) Bond, who passed away in February 2019 after fighting a battle with cancer. Bond was a longtime civic leader and Village of Montgomery trustee.
A memorial garden and plaque will be dedicated July 20, 10a at Foxmoor Park, corner of Simpson Pkwy and Broch Way, Montgomery, IL. The memorial garden was spearheaded by community member Ben Brzoska who commented “Stan did so much for the Village of Montgomery. He was a caring and dedicated to the community which he lived in.”
Montgomery Village President Matt Brolley said “As anyone who knew Stan can attest, he fully embodied the qualities of a public servant. His deliberate, thoughtful and responsible leadership was matched only by his joyful sense of humor.”

Bond served two terms on the Village Board since being elected in 2011. He served as chair of the Village’s beautification committee and Bond was particularly proud of the bluebird attraction program that placed more than 50 bluebird houses in natural areas in Montgomery.
