Cooling Centers Open In Montgomery

With temperatures in the 90s expected this weekend, the village is opening two centers to prevent heat stroke.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Extreme heat in this weekend's forecast has prompted village officials to open two cooling centers. If you find yourself without power or air conditioning, head to the nearest location. Both centers are air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible, officials said.

The centers will be open at the following locations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

  • The Village of Montgomery Village Hall at 200 N. River Street
  • Montgomery Police Department at 10 Civic Center Ave.

Here are some cooling centers available in Kendall County. The Kendall County Health Department reminds residents to call ahead to make sure a cooling center is open before heading there.
