District 308 Referendum Discussions Scheduled

Several community meetings will take place ahead of the April 2 election.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Community Unit School District 308 invites the community to several presentations, with the opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the operating referendum on the April 2 ballot.

Community Conversations are being held in three locations: March 5 at the Oswego Public Library, 5:30-7pm; March 13 at Oswego Fire Protection District Station 1, 5:30-7pm; and March 21 at the Oswegoland Park District Civic Center, 10:30am-12 pm. Superintendent Dr. John Sparlin will be joined by other leaders from the district to help educate voters on the operating referendum.

A short presentation about the district’s current financial situation, contributing factors, and potential referendum impact to homeowners will all be discussed. Attendees will also learn about the items the board is voting to reinstate/reduce if the referendum does pass. Following the short presentation, community members are welcome to ask questions. Several printed resources will be available to attendees to help inform them prior to the April 2 vote.
