Memorial Service Planned For 6-Year-Old Who Died In Boulder Hill

Authorities are investigating after Kerrigan Rutherford was found dead at her family's Boulder Hill home on Thursday, July 3.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Authorities continue investigating the death of a 6-year-old girl who was found dead in her family's Boulder Hill home Thursday, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies responded to the home in the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a child who was unresponsive and not breaking. Family members of Kerrigan Rutherford appear to have set up a GoFundMe page for the child's funeral costs.

Trisha Redmond, Rutherford's aunt and organizer of the fundraiser, described the young girl as "a bundle of joy and fun, with a huge imagination and love for everyone she met," and added that Kerrigan "Kerri" Rutherford lit up "every room she was in."

A memorial service for Rutherford will be held on Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Warehouse Church, 308 East Galena Blvd. in Aurora.
