Kendall County Sheriff's Office Reminds Motorists to Slow Down in School Zones
Speeding in a school zone carries a minimum $200 fine.

With many schools starting up again Monday, Aug. 17, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind motorists to take it slow is school zones and to allow extra time in their commute due to an increase in traffic.
20 mile per hour school zone speed limits are in effect on school days, during school hours, when children are present. If you are cited for speeding in a school zone, the law does not allow court supervision, and carries a minimum $200 fine. Cellular phone use and texting are not authorized on any roadway and are especially dangerous in a school zone. Sheriff’s Deputies will be increasing patrols and enforcement in school zones during this time.
