Missing 6-Year-Old Found Safe: Montgomery Police

The girl was found unharmed, police said.

MONTGOMERY, IL —Montgomery police said a 6-year-old girl reported missing from Victoria Drive on Thursday night was found safe hours later. Police said the girl was reported missing at around 8:13 p.m. after she was last seen at 7 p.m. The girl reportedly left on foot and was spotted walking away from her home.

Police began to search the immediate area with no initial success, Montgomery police said in a press release. The search perimeter was expanded and with the assistance of surrounding police departments and concerned neighbors, a search was conducted on surrounding residential streets.

Just after 10 p.m., the 6-year-old was located unharmed and under no suspicious circumstances, police said.

The girl was given emergency care as a precaution but no injuries were reported.

Montgomery police thanked the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, the Plano Police Department, the Yorkville Police Department, the Oswego Police Department, the Aurora Police Department, the Montgomery/Countryside Fire Department and the"countless residents that assisted in locating the missing girl."
