Montgomery Apartment Complex Seeks Approval: Village
Montgomery Village Board will vote whether to approve a preliminary plan for 468 units in 13 apartment buildings.

MONTGOMERY, IL — The Village of Montgomery Board is looking over plans for an apartment complex adjacent to the Oswego Public Library. S. R. Jacobson and Edward Rose & Sons is proposing to build Ogden Hill Apartments at the corner of Goodwin Drive and Reading Drive. The plan calls for 468 units in 13 buildings. The property is already zoned for multi-family residences, according to village documents. The developers are requesting a number of exceptions to the Village's setback requirements. The village's board of trustees will consider those setback deviations and more in Monday's board meeting. There, a vote will take place on a resolution to approve the preliminary plan of a special use for a planned unit development.
Just over half of the 468 units are planned for two-bedroom apartments. Almost 200 will be single-bedrooms, and another 26 are set aside for three-bedroom units. Preliminary plans of pitched roofs with varying roof lines will create variation in the structures. Brick and siding would be the main materials used for the exterior, with balconies, patios and a variety of window treatment designs. Attached and detached garages, a community room with a gym, a pool and outdoor grills are part of the plan, as well.
In addition to the library as a neighbor, The Oswegoland Park District is thinking about putting park amenities close to the proposed development, too. That will be addressed in an upcoming annexation agreement amendment. The plans are preliminary, which means any annexation agreements and final plans will take place in the future. The look of the building, pictured above, is subject to change.
