Montgomery Cemetery Walk, Halloween Safety Event: What To Know
Montgomery Cemetery Walk is Oct. 3, and volunteers are still needed for another upcoming area Halloween event.

MONTGOMERY, IL — Montgomery's annual Cemetery Walk is 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 in Riverside Cemetery. The Village of Montgomery said the free tours will start near the corner of River and Taylor Streets about every 10 minutes, and guests will be led through the cemetery in small groups to hear the interesting stories of early pioneers and others who reside in the cemetery. This event, however, isn't a spooky one, as it's just a chance for people of all ages to learn out the area's rich history, the Village said.
There will be free refreshments provided by Dieterle Memorial Home, and attendees are asked to bring a flashlight and "sturdy shoes."
